Evensong is a service of choral music, prayers, and scripture that traces its origin all the way back to the earliest days of the Church. Participants often report experiencing a deep sense of comfort, peace, and togetherness. In addition to choral music, it traditionally contains some prayers and scripture which are sung and some which are spoken.
The modern Evensong service is based on The Book of Common Prayer of the Anglican Church. Attendees can follow the service, singing and speaking, or may simply choose to bask in the glory of the beautiful music and timeless prayers.
Reception following the 4 p.m. service.
